| The Night Before Christmas Ornament Series |

In 1996, Department 56 announced a series of mercury glass ornaments that would be inspired by A Christmas Carol. Each individual item number was packaged in its own green window box nested in shred. Like other previously released ornaments, these were well received and quite popular so the collection expanded in 1997 to include popular buildings from the top four Village lines. Many are known to have been hand-signed by Neilan Lund during his attendance at the Bachman's Collector Gathering.
